Hey friends,

I caught covid over Christmas → New Years and let me tell you, it was no fun. I know omicron is supposed to be milder but also more contagious and all, but I was out for a good 3 to 4 days with fever, congestion, runny nose, fatigue, sore throat.. basically all the symptoms. Even now I’m still trying to recover from this lingering dry cough.

On the positive side I’m glad it wasn’t any worse than this, and.. at least I got nature’s booster now? Anyways, hope y’all are staying safe and healthy!!

• Royal.io announces two Nas songs that will be launched as NFTs

  • Users who hold the NFTs will get % of streaming royalties (!!!) as well as other benefits, depending on which rarity of token they hold.

  • This is super exciting and I might have to ape, to support the future of music.

• Blockbuster….. is forming a DAO??

  • They plan on raising $5M by selling NFTs and using the funds to buy the company, and then turn into a streaming service to compete with Netflix.

  • This is insane and I might have to ape, because we live in a meme economy now.

• Polygon NFTs sold on OpenSea reached an ATH at ~2 million transactions

  • Apparently, lots of gaming companies are building NFT things on Polygon, as opposed to art and collectibles on Ethereum mainnet.

  • It’s cool to see lower cost blockchains gain traction. Maybe it’s time to ape.

• Oh yeah, speaking of OpenSea, they just raised another $300M

  • Something something year of the NFTs, time to ape.

• How the FWB (Friends with Benefits) DAO came to be with Trevor McFedries

  • Very cool look into the mind of one of this generation’s best creators/entrepreneurs, who turned a group chat into a $50M market cap decentralized organization. Crazy right?

DAO tooling is definitely something to watch out for this year. Now that people are trading coins, collecting NFTs, and remote working a ton, everyone wants to know:

• How can I define myself better on the internet?

• How can I get paid doing what I want to do, whenever I want to do it?

That’s kind of the core of what DAOs and DAO tooling will be exploring. Let me know if you’re working on this kind of stuff!
