August 31th, 2021 - Thatguyintech's weekly update
Last week, Thursday was a very special day.
How it started:
How it ended:
It’s been almost 3 months since I started going full-time on crypto content creation and I still have so far to go, but it’s crazy to me how much momentum there is in the web 3.0 industry. I’ve talked to artists, creators, founders, community leaders, engineers, and everyone in-between. From all these conversations, I’ve seen the same overarching theme play out over and over again:
Keep putting out good work and you’ll keep getting good things back.
In 2017 and 2018, the crypto markets were saturated with ICO scams. It was so easy to buy into a scam-coin that would go to $0 in a few months. Now, after the past 3 years of development in the blockchain industry, no matter what you want to do you can probably find a long-term productive way to do it. Let me give you some examples..
Are you an engineer? Try building some smart contracts:
Do you enjoy community management? Join a DAO or a growing NFT project and help organize events and culture:
Are you a writer or curator? Create a newsletter to help people stay up to date with what’s going on:
Entrepreneur? Think about ways to share the fruits of NFT technology with the long tail of creators:
The list goes on… and my point is, there has never been a better time to start looking at blockchain and crypto.
I’ll share the story behind that new job offer soon, but for now please enjoy this snapshot of my creator journey so far:
